President Crow summarizes the origin of his dedication to innovation in higher education and how ASU reflects that work during the 2025 Edison Awards Gala on April 3 in Fort Myers, Florida. President Crow received the award, alongside Jensen Huang, founder, president and CEO of NVIDIA, for his career contributions to the world of innovation.

A report issued by the Council on Higher Education as a Strategic Asset, or HESA, of which President Crow served as co-chair, outlines critical talent shortages in sectors essential to national strength — health care, cybersecurity and AI, education and engineering — and calls for scalable, coordinated solutions to close these gaps.

President Crow joins Nadine Strossen, legal scholar and former president of the American Civil Liberties Union, and Larry H. Summers, former US Secretary of the Treasury and former president of Harvard University, for a conversation about free speech on American college and university campuses. The panel was moderated by Douglas Belkin, higher education reporter for the Wall Street Journal,. on March 4, 2025, on the ASU Tempe campus.
