ASU helps to “Energize Phoenix”

Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 2:00pm

During the last 8 years, President Michael Crow has helped to establish ASU as an institution dedicated to sustainable development and community embeddedness. The creation of the Global Institute of Sustainability, the world’s first School of Sustainability, and Community Connect are all examples of ASU’s commitment to building a better quality of life in Arizona and beyond.

Yet another example is ASU’s ongoing partnership with the City of Phoenix and Arizona Public Service in an initiative called “Energize Phoenix,” which aims to transform the residential and commerial stretch of Phoenix’s Light Rail Corrdor into a model of energy efficiency, sustainable practices and much needed economic development.

Joining the President’s Podcast to talk more about “Energize Phoenix” and its importance to the Valley of the Sun is Dr. Matthew Fraser, associate professor at ASU’s School of Sustainabily.
