May 13 marked the grand opening of the Global Institute of Sustainability’s new facility at ASU’s Tempe campus. The building, which is the epicenter of ASU Sustainability efforts and home of ASU’s School of Sustainability, was designed with the assistance of ASU students in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
This week’s podcast features ASU President Michael Crow’s remarks during the building’s dedication which he sees as an important step in addressing the sustainability-related challenges that society faces.

Dr. Jon Fink - ASU Commitment to Solar Energy

ASU President Michael Crow is the current chairman of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, an organization comprised of close to 600 signatories dedicated to carbon neutrality. As part of its ongoing university-wide sustainability initiative, ASU recently announced that it will install solar electric modules on over 130,000 square feet of building and parking structure rooftop space on its Tempe campus.
