I was deeply saddened to learn of Walter Cronkite's recent passing. My thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Arizona State University is honored by its very special relationship with Walter, the namesake of our school of journalism and mass communication, and his enduring legacy will live on in generations of journalists trained to meet the high standard he set for news, professionalism and excellence.
