Office of the President

Full SPEED Ahead

Date:
July 14, 2008

Following up on my last post, I'm glad to report that Arizona State University, along with its sister institutions, has successfully secured an unprecedented state investment for university construction and renovation in Arizona. The Stimulus Plan for Economic and Educational Development (SPEED) will provide ASU with $329 million of vital funding, allowing us to address important maintenance and refurbishment needs across the institution, as well as the completion of the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, which will help to give Arizona the critical infrastructure necessary to educate new generations of physicians. This victory represents an important step in building a strong and successful future for our state, and I thank everyone who contributed to this signifcant and sizable endeavor.
