In September 1957, the first Nursing courses were offered at ASU, then known as the Arizona State College at Tempe. Since then, the graduating classes have grown from an initial six students in 1960, to over 300 students every year. The scope of the curriculum has grown as well with increased emphasis on utilizing medical research and best practices to improve healthcare. Joining us today from the Downtown Phoenix campus is Bernadette Melnyk, Dean of the College of Nursing & Heathcare Innovation since 2005, who will discuss how the college continues to advance in order to meet the ever-changing needs of our local community and the world at large.
